When you're putting energy back in instead of using it, the IONIQ 6 is compatible with the most powerful 350-kW DC fast-charging stations. Hyundai says this allows you to charge from 10% to 80% battery in just 18 minutes (in ideal conditions, of course). Edmunds also verified Hyundai's claims. Based on their efficiency results, the IONIQ 6 is one of the quickest-charging EVs you can buy.
The IONIQ 6 has a 10.6-kW onboard charger. Using a 240-volt (Level 2) household-style outlet or charging station, the IONIQ 6 can go from a 10% charge to 80% in just under seven hours, according to Hyundai. Using a 50-kW (Level 3) DC fast-charging station, you can go from a 10% charge to 80% in around 73 minutes. Again, charging stations with 350-kW (Level IV) rapid-charging capabilities can take you from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 the highest rating of Good in four crash tests.
