The 1989 Mercedes 560SL is a testament to the exacting standards of German engineering with exceptional craftsmanship and timeless design. The 560SL is often regarded as the best of the R107 series, the '89 model was the last and in our opinion the very best of this offering. At 3700 pounds, a soft luxury car ride is assured, but not at the expense of Grand Touring type handling characteristics. The 560 has a fully independent dual wishbone suspension up front with a multi-link set up in the rear, the ride is soft without losing its intended sports car feel. Robust performance is provided by a spirited 5.6L Fuel Injected 283HP V8 engine which is mated to an efficient 4-speed automatic transmission. Power disc brakes with ABS are at all 4 corners with a power assisted steering and a quick ratio steering box. The interior cabin boasts leather wrapped bucket seats with authentic wood trim on the console and center stack. Options include: power operated side windows, a central locking system, air conditioning, full instrumentation and an upgraded AM-FM audio system w/CD (original radio included). The beautiful exterior color is identified as Pine Green and is somewhat rare in these cars, it is nicely contrasted by the saddle interior.
