1986 RUF BTR – Chassis W09TAO348GPR06024 - 1 of less than 30 W09 BTR built by RUF, and 1 of 4 RUF VIN BTR built in 1986 - Restoration by RUF Automobile in Pfaffenhausen Completed in 2020 Commissioned new by the Beddor family, pioneering American Porsche collectors and early RUF ambassadors, 06024 exemplifies the partnership between RUF and the U.S. market that helped bring the brand to international prominence. The Beddors campaigned numerous RUF-built cars in competition and in magazine testing, establishing the BTR’s reputation as the world’s first production vehicle to exceed 300 km/h. Mechanically, this car was originally configured to RUF’s 3.4-liter BTR specification, featuring a single K27 turbocharger, an intercooler unique to RUF, revised camshafts, and upgraded fueling. This example was later upgraded by RUF to the rare R50.50 6-speed transmission. Output was rated at approximately 374 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque — staggering numbers for 1986. During its time in the Beddor collection, this example (originally commissioned for Marilyn Beddor) was further developed with additional performance modifications typical of the family’s builds. In 2020, a recommissioning was completed by RUF Automobile in Pfaffenhausen, with the car restored to its original configuration — offering the balance and drivability that characterized the original BTR package. Presented today in Grand Prix White with a white and black interior, 06024 with its Beddor family provenance represents a rare and significant chapter in RUF’s history, and a compelling opportunity to acquire an authentic W09 BTR from RUF’s most celebrated performance era.
