1964 Amphicar 770 convertible, an amphibious vehicle capable of operating both on land and water. The Amphicar is powered by a 1147cc inline four-cylinder engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The engine and radiator are mounted in the rear, with the spare and storage space up front under the hood. Finished in light blue with a white vinyl convertible top, and yellow and white two-tone interior. The car has undergone recent restoration work and also radiator servicing, new brakes, a new master cylinder, new engine and transmission gaskets, an electric fuel pump, alternator, and radio. The front brake shoes could use maintenance, though the brakes are effective. An Optima battery was installed in 2024. The convertible top is manually operated, and its condition is well maintained with no visible tears or wear. The fuel gauge, speedometer and clock are reading. The hood and rear decklid are latched down via a tool kept in the glovebox. The Amphicar's unique design allows it to float and be propelled by rear-mounted propellers when in water, engagement of the propellers is via a floor mounted lever. The car starts and runs smoothly, with smooth a clutch and shifting experience. An eye catcher for sure, and fun to drive.
