Introduced for 1955, the Thunderbird was Ford's answer to the Corvette. The Thunderbird was marketed with an emphasis on style and luxury than than sportiness. It was immediately successful and far outsold the Corvette. The first generation Thunderbirds were all two seater convertibles with a soft top and removable hard top. 1957 is arguably the most desirable year model. This example was originally blue with a white top and blue interior. It has been completely redone in a new color scheme of metallic green with saddle and brown interior. The drivetrain has been significantly upgraded with a 5.8L 351ci V8 engine, Ford C4 automatic transmission and Ford 9" rear differential.
